This collection was donated to the University of Illinois Library in January of 2001 by the Transportation Technology Center, Inc. (TTCI, a subsidiary of the Association of American Railroads) and the Federal Railroad Administration.

The Grainger Engineering Library at the University of Illinois is the designated repository for the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance of Way Association (AREMA).
